Helping You Help

Violence prevention is a community effort. We are excited to offer dynamic, interactive trainings and workshops for folks seeking to provide the support and scaffolding young people need to develop healthy relationships and sexual identities.

These training programs are available for a number of audiences beyond students, and we are happy to customize and include information specific to your group's needs. We have worked with parent groups, special education organizations, community centers, workplaces, and more.

Askable Adults

A program for teachers, faculty, and staff

 

In this interactive, skills-based workshop Speak About It staff will provide faculty, teachers, coaches and any adult stakeholders with new tools to facilitate conversations in safer spaces, whether that be an athletics bus, an academic office, a classroom, or somewhere else. This session offers concrete, specific strategies for adults to engage students in topics of health and sexuality, while also setting boundaries and reinforcing Mandated Reporter policies and language.

Target audience: Adult stakeholders, incl. campus administrators, staff, faculty, coaches; 10-100 participants
Time:
60-90 mins.
Space needs: Classroom or lecture hall space

 

Sex ED-iquette Dinner

A delectable and delightful way to learn more about sex and consent!

 

This is a fun, interactive, and creative group dining experience, designed for those interested in more intimate conversation about more intimate matters. Each course is paired with a different consent or sex ed topic. Throughout the meal, hosts challenge diners to re-frame their understanding of sex and hooking-up to feel more like a mutual, shared experience. Much like a delicious meal! The dinner is easily customizable to work in conversations and learnings from different topics in sexual health.

Target audience: Community groups, book clubs, teams, groups familiar and comfortable with each other, curious about sexual health knowledge, and wanting to explore in a safe, creative way
Time:
2+ hrs.
Space needs: Restaurant or seated dining setting preferred; Group/client provides food

 

Preparing Your Student for Healthy Relationships

A workshop for parents, caretakers, and guardians

 

Preparing Your Student For Healthy Relationships is an interactive, research-based workshop designed to bring parents and caretakers up to speed on information about teen relationships, consent, dating violence, sexual violence, and healthy sexuality. Expert facilitators will empower parents and caregivers with the knowledge and skills to confidently initiate conversation about these topics with their teens in a way that aligns with personal and family values and equips teens for the years to come.

Target Audience: Parents, caretakers, guardians, adult stakeholders of teen or high school students*; Up to 80 participants
Time: 90 minutes
Space needs: Projection/video capabilities

*Can be adapted for younger ages upon request.
