Meet the Educators: Olivier
Meet Olivier, one of Speak About It’s new educators for the 2019-2020 academic year! We’ll let him introduce himself and share why he’s excited to speak about it this summer (and beyond) in his own words.
“As soon as I had the opportunity to audition for Speak About It, I jumped at it.”
I’m a New York City based actor, trained in theatre, film and television at the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts. I love to use my platform as a way to help people and to be able to do what I love, theatre. So to be able to do both with Speak About It is a dream come true. I pursued acting motivated by the fact that I wanted to do something in the world that matters, something that would make a difference and THIS will be just that.
I think the thing I’m most looking forward to is traveling while on tour with Speak About It. I moved to NYC with a fire lit under me and have been working so hard, non-stop. This tour will allow me to be out of the city while doing what I love. In many ways, it seems like a vacation!
But I also know that it will be hard work. I'm sure we will spend lots of time on the road, in new places we don’t know. I know that it will be fun, but I’ll also have to find time to take care of myself. I am absolutely the type of person to distract myself by keeping busy and staying productive. But I also know that I need to give myself time to relax.
I’m one of those people who depends on the sun to lift my mood. After a long week, my favorite thing to do is lay out in the sun and relax. Sunbathing and doing absolutely nothing is my way of balancing myself out to feel better. Self care is really important to me, so I try and take myself to the beach or have picnics as often as I can, and look forward to squeezing that kind of stuff in on the road!
Here's hoping Olivier and his team get plenty of sunshine while on the road this August! Stay tuned to learn more about our awesome educators!
